R & D Strategy Launch Out-86th “Society that changes with mass introduction of renewable energy”

Mr. Nobuaki OnagiIt has been a year and a few months since I moved from a private company to the Research and Development Strategy Center (CRDS) of the Japan Science and Technology Agency. The biggest difference from my previous job, which has been researching and developing, is that the research content and the technology to be developed can now be seen in three dimensions. Here, it is common to hear from multiple experts on a subject. I myself am not currently engaged in research activities, but I think that by coming into contact with various perspectives, I have become able to see research and development more deeply and broadly. The job of CRDS is to investigate and think about how the world is moving and what to do if it is, and to propose “what should be done concretely”. For examp...

《Co-sponsored by JST》 Creating a “Sustainable and Rich Society” from Tohoku — Holding a Symposium on Energy and Plastics Issues in Sendai

At the United Nations Climate Action Summit in September, Sweden’s 16-year-old environmental activist Greta Thunberg urged the adult generation to take measures was widely covered in the media and SNS. While global warming, which is believed to be related to the increase in huge typhoons and record heavy rainfall, is progressing, the drastic reduction of greenhouse gases is not progressing. In that sense, humankind does not yet have the optimal solution to social issues such as global warming and energy. In order to transform society into a sustainable one, we are required to reconsider not only the lifestyle but also the social structure itself.“Creating a’Sustainable and Rich Society’from Tohoku-Science Agora in Sendai 2019 & Tohoku University SDGs Symposium” in Sendai City, Miyagi P...
