The Chemical Society of Japan (Chairman Maki Kawai) received a research grant from Akira Yoshino and Asahi Kasei Honorary Fellow, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry last year, on the 9th. Kojio Ken) I chose an associate professor.
The research of Associate Professor Kojio was “Creation of elastomers filled with highly oriented inorganic nanosheets”. We are continuing to develop rubber materials that prevent lithium-ion batteries from swelling.
This grant project of the Chemical Society of Japan was started in 2014 based on the prize money that Mr. Yoshino received the Russian science award “The Global Energy Prize”, which is said to be the Nobel Prize in the energy field in 2013. This is the sixth time for the purpose of revitalizing research activities in the fields of energy, environment, and resources. Mr. Yoshino has announced that part of the prize money of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry will be used for this project.
